Do not place lids or any cover on your tins and candles. Simply blow out the candle, this may cause minimal amount of smoking.
If your candle wick is longer than 5mm, it will create a larger flame, causing soot and wax melting faster. The longer your candle burns, the larger the flame will become, meaning your candle will melt quicker.
Keeping your candle burning for 1-4 hours at a time will give you a longer burn time and ensures that the wax melts all the way to the edge of the tin and avoid tunneling.
Tunnelling occurs when only the center of your candle melts and over time creates a hole down the center of the candle while leaving a ring of un-melted wax along the inside of the tin. This will make it harder to light the wick as the candle continues to burn. To avoid candle tunnelling, burn your candle and melt the wax to the edge of the tin.
Prior to lighting your candle and in-between burns, ensure the wick is no longer than 5mm in length. Untrimmed wicks will cause smoke and black residue around your candles & inside of your candle tins. If there is black residue on the inside of your candles, use a dampen paper towel to wipe clean.
Yes, absolutely! Simply, clean them by using hot, soapy water and dry. Do not pour liquid wax down your drains, wax will solidify in the pipes and cause damages to your sink and drainage system.
